Montenegro, le sextans ainsi que les autres bronzes de cette série, as, semis, quadrans, sextans et once sont de la plus grande rareté et s’intègrent dans un étalon semi-libral de poids romain (livre de 324,72 g) et seraient antérieurs à 211 avant J.-C. Avec ce type d’objet monétiforme on peut indistinctement évoquer un monnayage romano-grec ou gréco-romain.
