Cronistoria

SIRIA - REGNO DI SIRIA - ALESSANDRO II ZEBINA

(128-123 a.C.)

Alessandro II Zebina affermò di essere figlio di Alessandro I. Tolomeo VIII lo esortò a ribellarsi contro Demetrio II Nicatore. Demetrio fu sconfitto vicino a Damasco e lasciò momentaneamente Alessandro II unico sovrano di Antiochia, ma presto litigò con il suo protettore egiziano. Tolomeo si avvicinò quindi ad Antioco VIII e gli offrì in sposa sua figlia Cleopatra Trifemo. Abbandonato da tutti, Alessandro fu infine catturato e venduto ad Antioco VIII che lo fece giustiziare nel 123 a.C..
