Sur ce type, il existe plusieurs manières de représenter les trois points qui sont posés différemment. Les trois globules sont particulièrement bien visibles sur cet exemplaire et cette combinaison n’était pas signalée par Ernest Babelon dans le Traité, p. 533-534.

Sicione, alla foce dell'istmo di Corinto nel Peloponneso, era la più piccola entità politica in questa regione con Phlius che toccava. Senza sbocco sul mare tra l'Acaia e l'Argolide, era stato descritto da Omero nell'Iliade come parte del regno di Agamennone. Abbiamo poche informazioni sulla storia della città prima della fine delle guerre persiane se non che la regione fu spesso devastata dagli Ateniesi, in particolare sotto Pericle nel 454 aC, secondo E. Babelon. La monetazione iniziò a diventare importante solo dopo la fine della guerra del Peloponneso nel 404 a.C..
