Descrittivo diritto : Tête casquée à gauche, le cou marqué par un trait horizontal.

Rovescio

Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Descrittivo rovescio : Animal vu de profil à droite, deux pattes de figurées, retournant la tête en arrière vers la queue recourbée sur la croupe.

Commento

Ce très rare potin, inédit pour A. Gäumann semble manquer au British Museum, au Cabinet des Médailles et à tous les autres musées consultés.
Le rapprochement de ce type avec le potin éduen DT. 3207, au sein d’une même série, nous semble arbitraire erroné !
Il existe bien deux type de potin éduen “au casque à côtes” (l’un avec le revers à gauche et l'autre avec le revers à droite), mais le flan comme le style n’ont rien à voir avec les potins DT. 3208.
This very rare potin, unpublished by A. Gäumann, seems to be missing from the British Museum, the Cabinet of Medals and all the other museums consulted. The connection of this type with the Aedui potin DT. 3207, within the same series, seems arbitrary and erroneous to us! There are indeed two types of Aedui potin “with a ribbed helmet” (one with the reverse on the left and the other with the reverse on the right), but the flan and the style have nothing to do with the potins DT. 3208
