Exemplaire usé et/ou mal frappé. Droit décentré et revers presque complet. Patine grise, très légèrement brossée

Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval passant à gauche, une ligne courbe partant de sa bouche et rejoignant une sorte de grènetis, un annelet perlé au-dessus de la croupe.
Commento
Sur les trois monnaies illustrées par G. Savès, seule la première a une tête identifiable ; les deux suivantes sont dans le même genre d'état que la monnaie proposée ici. Il semble que le cheval du revers soit sur une ligne d'exergue. La quasi-totalité de ces monnaies au cheval semble être fourrée.

GALLIA - SUDOVESTE DELLA GALLIA - RUTENI (Regione di Rodez)

Vicini degli Arvernes, dei Cadurques e dei Gabales, il loro territorio corrispondeva all'ex Rouergue (attuale dipartimento dell'Aveyron) a nord del Tarn, il cui corso costituiva il confine con la provincia di Narbonnaise. I Rutenes, alleati degli Arvernes, avevano partecipato alle operazioni che portarono alla sconfitta di Bituit, re degli Arvernes nel 121 aC e alla creazione della provincia di Narbonnaise. In questa occasione i Rutene si erano trovati tagliati in due, seguendo il confine naturale del Tarn. Attivi nella coalizione contro i romani nel 52 a.C., fornirono all'esercito di soccorso un contingente di 12.000 uomini. Fonti: Cesare (BG. I, 45; VII, 5, 64, 75 e 90).
