Flan de forme ovale, fin, et bien centré. Jolie tête au droit. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Patine grise

Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo diritto : Tête à gauche ; le nez pointé ; deux dauphins extrêmement stylisés devant la bouche (?).
Rovescio
Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo rovescio : Croix formée de quatre cantons ornés chacun d'une lunule : un pendant en ellipse au 1er canton, une balle de fronde au 2e, une hache au 3e et trois globules posés en triangle (?) au 4e.
Commento
Curieusement, dans l'ouvrage de G. Savès, l'obole de ce type est illustrée avec un droit, mais sans revers ; elle est décrite, "tête à gauche romanisée, œil de face, oreille" et revers non photographié.
L'obole reprise provenait du site éponyme de Grabels (Hérault).

GALLIA - SUDOVESTE DELLA GALLIA - RUTENI (Regione di Rodez)

Vicini degli Arvernes, dei Cadurques e dei Gabales, il loro territorio corrispondeva all'ex Rouergue (attuale dipartimento dell'Aveyron) a nord del Tarn, il cui corso costituiva il confine con la provincia di Narbonnaise. I Rutenes, alleati degli Arvernes, avevano partecipato alle operazioni che portarono alla sconfitta di Bituit, re degli Arvernes nel 121 aC e alla creazione della provincia di Narbonnaise. In questa occasione i Rutene si erano trovati tagliati in due, seguendo il confine naturale del Tarn. Attivi nella coalizione contro i romani nel 52 a.C., fornirono all'esercito di soccorso un contingente di 12.000 uomini. Fonti: Cesare (BG. I, 45; VII, 5, 64, 75 e 90).
