REPUBBLICA DEMOCRATICA DEL CONGO

Quando il Congo belga ottenne l'indipendenza nel 1960, il paese divenne la Repubblica del Congo. Nel 1964 fu ribattezzata Repubblica Democratica del Congo. Tra il 1971 e il 1997, il presidente Joseph-Désiré Mobutu ha sostenuto l'autenticità africana e ha ribattezzato il Congo Repubblica dello Zaire (Zaire in breve). Nel 1997, quando Mobutu cadde, il paese riprese il nome di Repubblica Democratica del Congo..
