Commento
Medal awarded in 1947 to Alfred Margaine as a former MP for the Marne. He was born on January 18, 1870 in Sainte-Menehould (Marne) and died on April 17, 1953 in Rochecorbon (Indre-et-Loire). He was elected MP for the Marne during the 10th legislature (April 24, 1910-1914) and was consistently re-elected until the 16th legislature (May 3, 1936-May 31, 1942). He was one of the 80 MPs who opposed giving full powers to Marshal Pétain. He sat on the Radical Republican and Radical Socialist benches. He was also Under-Secretary of State for War from June 10 to 13, 1914 (for 3 days!), and Deputy Under-Secretary of State for Public Works from June 3 to December 14, 1932
