La barrette présente trois rubans. Chaque ruban se rattache à une médaille de taille standard ou à sa miniature.
Le premier à gauche est celui de la médaille militaire ou aussi appelé légion d’honneur du sous-officier.
Le ruban central correspond à la croix de guerre 1939-1945 mais le revers de la croix lié est celle du théâtre d’opérations extérieurs avec deux citations (la première à l'ordre du régiment ou à l'ordre de la brigade et la seconde à l'ordre de la division). Il doit probablement s’agir d’une erreur postérieure, l’ensemble nous étant parvenu de cette façon. Vous retrouverez également pour cette décoration les deux barrettes qui, elles, portent trois étoiles, soit trois citations (la dernière est à l'ordre du corps d'armée). Un ruban de rechange et une étoile d’argent sont présentes dans ce lot.
Quant au dernier ruban, il s’agit de la médaille de l’étoile de bronze ou Bronze star medal, haute distinction pour bravoure, héroïsme et mérite des États-Unis, que vous retrouverez ici en miniature avec ses quatre barrettes.
The bar has three ribbons. Each ribbon is attached to a standard-sized medal or its miniature. The first on the left is that of the Military Medal or also called Legion of Honor of the non-commissioned officer. The central ribbon corresponds to the War Cross 1939-1945 but the reverse of the linked cross is that of the external theater of operations with two citations (the first to the order of the regiment or to the order of the brigade and the second to the order of the division). A spare ribbon and a silver star are present in this lot. QUARTA REPUBBLICA FRANCESE
(16/01/1947-8/01/1959)
Caratterizzata da un regime parlamentare unito a una grande instabilità ministeriale, la Quarta Repubblica ha la particolarità di non essere mai stata proclamata ufficialmente. Infatti, De Gaulle, quando arrivò a Parigi il 25 agosto 1944, si rifiutò di farlo con il pretesto che la Repubblica non aveva mai cessato di esistere. Considerando che lo Stato francese del maresciallo Pétain era solo un semplice stato di cose, ritiene che la Repubblica sia sopravvissuta nella Francia libera e il suo atto di nascita debba quindi essere il 18 giugno 1940. Tuttavia, la sua partenza, il 20 gennaio 1946, e il referendum del 13 ottobre 1946 che approva una nuova Costituzione, segna l'inizio ufficiale di questa repubblica. Conosce due presidenti: Vincent Auriol (16/01/1947 - 23/12/1953) e René Coty (23/12/1953 - 8/1/1959). La crisi aperta causata dalla rivolta dell'esercito algerino porta, nel 1958, alla sua caduta che viene confermata dall'adozione di una nuova costituzione il 28 settembre 1958. Tuttavia, essa non cessa definitivamente fino all'8 gennaio 1959 quando il generale de Gaulle è stato insediato come presidente della Quinta Repubblica.
