Le poème sur le revers est un extrait de “Auto de Mofina Mendes” de 1534. Gil Vicence le présente “à la prière de la très vertueuse et très noble D. Violante, dame Abbesse du très loué et saint couvent du monastère d'Odivelas”, sœur du navigateur Pedro Alvares Cabral, découvreur du Brésil.

Gil Vicente (né vers 1465 ou vers 1480, mort probablement vers 1537) est un homme de théâtre portugais ; il est généralement considéré comme le premier dramaturge « littéraire » portugais.
The poem on the reverse is an excerpt from “Auto de Mofina Mendes” from 1534. Gil Vicente presents it “at the prayer of the very virtuous and very noble D. Violante, Lady Abbess of the very praised and holy convent of the Monastery of Odivelas,” sister of the navigator Pedro Alvares Cabral, discoverer of Brazil. Gil Vicente (born around 1465 or around 1480, died probably around 1537) was a Portuguese playwright; he is generally considered the first Portuguese “literary” playwright.
