“Le pèlerinage de la ville de Varsovie remonte à 1711. A cette date, ses habitants avaient promis que s'ils étaient délivrés de la peste, ils iraient à pied, tous les ans, au Sanctuaire de Czestochowa pour y célébrer la fête de l'Assomption de Notre-Dame.” La peste aurait cessé grâce à l'intercession de saint Paul l'ermite, patriarche de l'Ordre Paulin chargé du sanctuaire et qui coordonne l'ensemble des nombreux pèlerinages vers Jasna Góra (col-line de lumière) que surplombe le sanctuaire.
Depuis lors, chaque année, du 6 au 15 août, Varsovie fait son pèlerinage à Jasna Góra.
“The pilgrimage of the city of Warsaw dates back to 1711.
