Germain Chauvelin fut membre du Grand Conseil, avocat général, garde des sceaux et ministre d'Etat. Secrétaire-commandeur des ordres du Roi, il est surtout connu comme ministre des affaires étrangères.
Germain Chauvelin was a member of the Grand Council, Attorney General, Keeper of the Seals, and Minister of State. Secretary-Commander of the King's Orders, he is best known as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
