Dans la base TSP maintenue par Michel Prieur, cinquante-huit exemplaires sont maintenant répertoriés ; comme pour le tétradrachme de Cléopâtre et Marc-Antoine, aussi rare, ce type est sur-représenté du fait de la présence du portrait d’Agrippine qui a incité les professionnels à passer la monnaie en vente et à l’illustrer.

NERONE e AGRIPINA FIGLIA

Agrippina (15-59) è figlia di Germanico e Agrippina Maggiore, sorella di Caligola. Sposò Domizio Enobarbo e diede alla luce Nerone nel 37. Dopo aver sposato lo zio nel 50, riuscì a far adottare il figlio dal marito, che divenne Cesare. Ad Agrippina non resta che, per assicurare il potere alla sua prole, liberarsi del marito divenuto una seccatura. Claude viene avvelenato, Britannico licenziato e Nerone succede a Claude. Agrippina è quindi strettamente associata al potere. Divenuta questa presenza troppo pressante, Nerone alla fine accettò di uccidere sua madre nel 59.
