Commento

Apparatchik brejnévien, membre du politburo de l’URSS de 1971 à 1987, Kunaev (1912-1993) est accusé de corruption et limogé par Mikhail Gorbatchev. Cette révocation cause une des premières révoltes nationalistes d’URSS en décembre 1986 à Alma-Ata, appelée Jeltoqsan. Ce sera la point de départ du processus d’indépendance du Kazakhstan effectif le 16 décembre 1991. Kunaev devient alors un des personnages emblèmatiques du Kazakhstan.
Brezhnevian apparatchik, member of the USSR Politburo from 1971 to 1987, Kunaev (1912-1993) was accused of corruption and dismissed by Mikhail Gorbachev. This dismissal caused one of the first nationalist revolts in the USSR in December 1986 in Alma-Ata, called Zheltoqsan. This would be the starting point of the process of independence of Kazakhstan effective on December 16, 1991. Kunaev then became one of the emblematic figures of Kazakhstan
