Monnaie sur un flan court et très mince, légèrement tordu à 6 heures au revers. Droit assez mal frappé, mais revers complet. Patine grise marron

Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo diritto : Tête à gauche ; le nez pointé et l'œil de profil ; la chevelure en un rang de mèches en chevrons surmonté de mèches en esses.
Rovescio
Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo rovescio : Croix bouletée, formée de quatre cantons, les 1er et 4e ornés d'une lunule, une balle de fronde au 2e et une hache bouletée au 3e.
Commento
Ce type d’obole semble n’être connu que par l’unique exemplaire S. 426. Le traitement de la coiffure ne semble pas correspondre à la description qui en est fate dans le Savès. La croix est bouletée. Le poids de cette monnaie pourrait faire penser à une hémi-obole (en considérant le poids théorique de 0,44 gramme).

Vicini degli Arvernes, dei Cadurques e dei Gabales, il loro territorio corrispondeva all'ex Rouergue (attuale dipartimento dell'Aveyron) a nord del Tarn, il cui corso costituiva il confine con la provincia di Narbonnaise. I Rutenes, alleati degli Arvernes, avevano partecipato alle operazioni che portarono alla sconfitta di Bituit, re degli Arvernes nel 121 aC e alla creazione della provincia di Narbonnaise. In questa occasione i Rutene si erano trovati tagliati in due, seguendo il confine naturale del Tarn. Attivi nella coalizione contro i romani nel 52 a.C., fornirono all'esercito di soccorso un contingente di 12.000 uomini. Fonti: Cesare (BG. I, 45; VII, 5, 64, 75 e 90).
