Bel exemplaire pour ce type rarissime. Droit complet, avec un centrage idéal au vu de la taille du flan. Revers légèrement décentré, mais avec la quasi-totalité de la légende. Patine vert foncé, très légèrement piquée au revers

Descrittivo diritto : Tête à droite, les cheveux divisés en grosses boucles stylisées, tirées en arrière ; devant la bouche, un annelet pointé entouré d’un annelet perlé.

Descrittivo rovescio : Oiseau à gauche, un annelet sous la tête ; derrière, un annelet centré.
Commento
Si les bronze à l'oiseau de Sénons sont relativement abondant avec les légendes GIAMILOS, YLLYCCI et SIINV, ceux avec la légende KOIIAKA.O sont excessivement rares ! Cet exemplaire, au moins en ce qui concerne le droit, pourrait être le plus beau parmi tous ceux qui sont publiés (le dessin du LA TOUR étant un peu " optimiste " par rapport à l'état de la monnaie de la BN). Cette classe III ne représente que 0,86% des monnaies de ce groupe trouvées sur le site de la Villeneuve-au-Châtelot, avec seulement 4 exemplaires.

(II - I secolo a.C.)
I Sénon, il cui nome significa i saggi o gli anziani, controllavano un vasto territorio che si estendeva tra il sud della Champagne e il nord della Borgogna. Il loro oppidum principale era Agedincum (Sens) che conserva ancora oggi il nome dell'antica civitas. Avevano molti altri oppida come Auxerre, Tonnerre o Avallon. Divona sembra essere stato il principale santuario dei Senoni. Cesare aveva svernato sei delle sue legioni nel 53 a.C. ad Agedincum. Labieno, luogotenente e legato di Cesare, venne a stabilirsi nella regione di Sens tra Gergovie e Alesia per controllare le strade e proteggere le armate di Cesare da un attacco dei Belgi o dei Germani. Cesare (BG. II, 2; V, 54, 56; VI, 2, 3, 44; VII, 4, 10, 11, 34, 56-59, 62, 75). Tolomeo (G. II, 8, 9).
