Descrittivo diritto : Tête stylisée à droite avec une couronne de laurier transversale.

Rovescio

Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval étiré galopant à droite, conduit par les restes d’un aurige déstructuré au-dessus ; entre les jambes du cheval, un globule ; les restes de la roue du char sous l’aurige.

Commento

Ce statère appartient à la deuxième phase du monnayage ambien ; les flans ont tendance à être plus étroit et à s'épaissir, mais les monnaies sont toujours bifaces, avec une tête stylisée au droit. Ces monnaies circulèrent aussi sur les côtes anglaises ; il est souvent difficile de distinguer les frappe continentales des insulaires.
This stater belongs to the second phase of the Ambian coinage; the flans tend to be narrower and thicker, but the coins are always two-sided, with a stylized head on the obverse. These coins also circulated on the English coasts; it is often difficult to distinguish continental strikes from island ones.
