Bronze bien identifiable, sur un flan régulier, mais avec des reliefs très émoussés et une patine poreuse

Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo diritto : Tête à droite, avec une chevelure aux mèches dites aquitaniques.
Rovescio
Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval libre bondissant à droite, un petit cheval (à la crinière bouletée) à gauche entre les jambes ; et une sorte d’écureuil assis sur la croupe du cheval principal.
Commento
Ce genre de bronze correspond au DT. 498, copiant clairement la drachme biturige LT. 6017 en orientant le droit dans l’autre sens, mais en en conservant parfaitement le style !
Ce bronze est intéressant, avec une sorte d’écureuil-aurige proche de certaines drachmes attribuées aux Carnutes qui peuvent dès lors être considérées comme le prototype de ce rare bronze (?).
This kind of bronze corresponds to DT. 498, clearly copying the biturige drachma LT. 6017 by orienting the right in the other direction, but perfectly retaining the style! This bronze is interesting, with a sort of squirrel-chariot close to certain drachmas attributed to the Carnutes which can therefore be considered as the prototype of this rare bronze (?)

Il loro nome, "quelli che sono su entrambe le sponde del fiume", indica che gli Ambiens, popolo della Gallia belga, occupavano entrambe le sponde della Somme (Samara). Il loro territorio corrisponde all'attuale dipartimento della Somme. I loro vicini erano i Calètes, i Morin, gli Atrébates, i Bellovaques. Il loro oppidum principale era Samarobriva (vicino ad Amiens). Hanno partecipato alla coalizione dei popoli belgi nel 57 aC e hanno fornito un contingente di diecimila uomini. Nel 52 aC, fu un contingente di cinquemila uomini che diedero per l'esercito di soccorso dedicato allo sgombero di Alesia. Cesare (BG. II, 4, 15; VII, 75; VIII, 7). Strabone (G. IV, 5). Kruta: 68, 110, 366.
