Né le 29 novembre 1932 à Paris de parents corréziens, Jacques Chirac compte plus de 40 ans de vie politique et a occupé les plus hautes fonctions de la République. Cette carrière démarre en 1962 où il intègre le cabinet du Premier Ministre Georges Pompidou. Parallèlement, il est élu Conseiller Municipal en Corrèze.
En 1972, il est nommé Ministre de l’Agriculture sous la présidence de Georges Pompidou. En 1974, il se rallie à Valéry Giscard d’Estaing qui, une fois élu président, le nomme Premier Ministre. Il entre à l’Assemblée Nationale où il est élu Député en 1976. Il est le premier Maire de Paris élu au suffrage universel en 1977. Jacques Chirac est ensuite nommé Premier Ministre en 1986 lors du mandat présidentiel de François Mitterrand.
En 1995, Jacques Chirac est élu Président de la République. En 2002, il est largement réélu face à Jean-Marie Le Pen. En 2007, il décide de ne pas se représenter et se consacre à sa fondation créée en 2008. Il décède le 26 septembre 2019 à l’âge de 86 ans.
