Augusto

Commodo succedette al padre Marc Aurèle, morto a Vienna il 17 marzo 180. Si affrettò a concludere una tregua con le tribù germaniche e poi abbandonò la vita pubblica. L'Impero fu successivamente governato dai prefetti del Pretorio, Perennis dal 182 al 185, Cléandre dal 185 al 190, entrambi assassinati. Commodo morì soffocato la notte del 31 dicembre 192.
