Cronistoria

CHÂTEAUDUN - VICOMTÉ DE CHÂTEAUDUN - RAOUL DE CLERMONT

(1264-1302)

A Geoffroy V, conte di Châteaudun (1235-1253), successe sua figlia che sposò Robert de Dreux (1253-1259). Alix de Dreux, la loro figlia, fidanzata con Raoul de Clermont, signore di Nesle, futuro conestabile di Francia, ereditò la contea, ma Simon de Clermont fu baillister nel 1264. Raoul morì l'11 luglio 1302 nella battaglia di Courtrai insieme a Robert d 'Artois e Jacques de Châtillon che preferirono morire piuttosto che arrendersi alle milizie fiamminghe. Suo figlio, Guillaume Ier (1302-1311) gli successe e fu l'ultimo visconte di Châteaudun. La monetazione di Châteaudun è menzionata nell'ordinanza del 1315.
