Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Très beau portrait expressif. Revers de style fin, bien venu à la frappe. Patine marron foncé brillante, légèrement grattée, laissant apparaître de minuscules petites oxydations verdâtres

Caligola è nato il 31 agosto 12 ad Antium. Nono figlio di Germanico e Agrippina Maggiore, perse il padre nel 19. Sua madre fu disonorata da Tiberio e morì in esilio nel 33. Era pronipote di Augusto per via materna e nipotino di Tiberio per parte di padre. Caligola succede a Tiberio dopo averlo assassinato (secondo Svetonio). Il suo vero nome è Caio Cesare. Il suo soprannome deriva da una scarpa militare "caliga" che indossava da bambino con il padre, nell'esercito. Dopo un inizio promettente nel 37-38, fu assassinato nel 41.
