Constantin-Eugène de Burlet (1846-1925) est un ingénieur, haut-fonctionnaire, chef d'entreprise spécialisé dans le transport ferroviaire et bourgmestre belge du Parti catholique. Il a été l'un des principaux promoteurs et créateurs de chemins de fer en Belgique et à l'étranger.

Leopoldo II (9/04/1835-17/12/1909) è il primogenito di Leopoldo I e Louise d'Orléans. Sposò Marie-Henriette, arciduchessa d'Austria, che gli diede tre figlie: Louise, Stéphanie e Clémentine. Fece affidamento sull'Inghilterra per respingere gli obiettivi di Napoleone III nel 1866-1869. Il suo regno fu segnato dallo sviluppo economico e industriale del Belgio, che divenne anche una grande potenza coloniale grazie all'annessione personale del Congo da parte del re al Congresso di Berlino del 1885. Senza eredi maschi, gli succedette il nipote Alberto I. Nel 1909. Ha lasciato in eredità il Congo al Belgio nel 1908.
