Cronistoria
BELGIO - REINO DE BELGIO - ALBERTO I
(17/12/1909-17/12/1934)
Alberto I (8/04/1875-17/02/1934) successe allo zio Leopoldo II nel 1909. Aveva sposato Elisabetta di Baviera nel 1900 (1876-1965). Durante la prima guerra mondiale comandò l'esercito belga e condivise la sorte dei soldati, che gli valse il titolo di "re cavaliere". Il trattato di Versailles del 1919 gli diede i territori di Eupen e Malmédy. Morì in un incidente di arrampicata a Marche-les-Dames. Gli successe il figlio Leopoldo III.
