Pour Feuardent ce jeton est un jeton de souvenir frappé des décennies après la campagne militaire pour rappeler ce qui fut un haut fait d’armes du jeune Louis XIV, le 6 août 1657. Il est exact que le buste utilisé est daté du début des années 1690, quarante ans plus tard.

ARDENNES - MONTMÉDY
La città di Montmédy apparteneva al Ducato di Lussemburgo. Presa agli spagnoli nel 1657, fu riunita alla Francia dal Trattato dei Pirenei.
