Commento
La Compagnie de l'Afrique orientale allemande est fondée en 1885 par Carl Peters avec l’appui de Bismark. En 1888-1889, elle vient péniblement à venir à bout des révoltes des populations arabes sur la bande côtière, la révolte d'Abushiri, avec l’aide de la Marine Allemande et de la Grande-Bretagne. En 1891, face à l’incapcité de la compagnie à gèrer ses territoires, l’administration est confiée au gouvernement allemand.
The German East Africa Company was founded in 1885 by Carl Peters with the support of Bismarck. In 1888-1889, it struggled to put down the Arab revolts on the coastal strip, the Abushiri Revolt, with the help of the German Navy and Great Britain. In 1891, faced with the company's inability to manage its territories, administration was entrusted to the German government.
