Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo diritto : Tête à droite, les cheveux allongés en grosses mèches se terminant par des S, entourée d’un cordon perlé.

Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval androcéphale, bridé à gauche ; au-dessus, l'aurige tient une hampe ; devant le cheval, un rinceau ; sous le cheval, sanglier enseigne à gauche.
Commento
Il est numéroté 71 au revers de la main du Dr. Colbert de Beaulieu. Au droit, on note un début de cassure de coin qui commence sur la tempe. On note un phénomène similaire au revers entre le cheval androcéphale et l'aurige. Mais les cassures de coins sont plus importantes que pour l'exemplaire précédent. Mêmes coins que l'exemplaire de MONNAIES XV, n° 747 et même coin de revers que l'exemplaire de MONNAIES XV, n° 749.
It is numbered 71 on the reverse by the hand of Dr. Colbert de Beaulieu. On the obverse, we note the beginning of a die break that begins on the temple. We note a similar phenomenon on the reverse between the androcephalic horse and the charioteer. But the die breaks are more significant than for the previous copy. Same dies as the copy of MONNAIES XV, n° 747 and same reverse die as the copy of MONNAIES XV, n° 749

I Vénètes erano un popolo armoricano che risiedeva nell'attuale dipartimento del Morbihan e la cui capitale era Vannes. Erano buoni marinai quanto ottimi commercianti e controllavano sia il commercio del peltro che la sua esportazione tra la Bretagna e Roma. Avevano una potente flotta e molti porti costieri. I Vénètes presero il capo della coalizione armoricana che si oppose a Cesare nel 57 a.C. Furono sottomessi da Crasso. L'anno successivo, nel 56 aC, la flotta veneziana incontrò quella di Cesare, nell'estuario della Loira o nel Golfo del Morbihan e fu totalmente distrutta. Hanno inviato un contingente di soccorso per aiutare a liberare Vercingetorige assediata ad Alesia durante la seconda rivolta. Dopo la guerra, i Vénètes persero il loro potere politico, ma mantennero un ruolo economico, in particolare nei rapporti commerciali con la Bretagna. Cesare (BG.
