Ruban rouge, bordé de jaune - longueur approximative : 28 cm sans compter les élastiques d’attache.
Concernant l’étoile présentant le buste de Saint Grégoire sur fond émaillé bleu à l’avers au centre d’une croix émaillé rouge sur une étoile à 8 branches. Marque du fabricant au revers : Tanfani Bertarelli avec la lettre A et des agrafes pour accrocher l’étoile au costume. poids : 55,14g et dimensions : 79,5*80 mm.
Cette médaille fut remise au gouverneur des Colonies, Monsieur Privat-Antoine Aubouard. MIlitaire de formation, né à Moulins dans l’Allier en 1874, il fut le premier français et catholique romain à être président du Liban sous mandat en 1934

Gregorio XVI (1765-1846) fu eletto dopo 50 giorni di conclave. Era stato prefetto della propaganda prima della sua elezione. Ultraconservatore, si affidò agli austriaci per ristabilire l'ordine nei suoi stati. Lottò contro i movimenti anticlericali in Spagna e Portogallo e promosse lo sviluppo della fede negli Stati Uniti. Ha protetto gli uniati in Russia.
