Commento
Médaille attribuée en 1893 à Maurice Rouvier, député des Alpes-Maritimes à l’occasion de la VIe législature. Il naquit le 17 avril 1842 à Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône) et mourut le 7 juin 1911 à Neuilly-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine). Il fut élu député le 2 juillet 1871, puis est réélu en 1877, 1881. En 1885 il est battu dans les Bouches-du-Rhône mais est élu député des Alpes-Maritimes, fonction qu’il occupera jusqu’en 1903. Le 30 mai 1887, il est nommé président du Conseil par Jules Grévy. Il fut à deux reprises ministre des Finances (1889-1892, puis à partir de 1902). Il fut également président du Conseil général des Alpes-Maritimes de 1890 à 1911, sénateur de ce département de 1903 à 1911.
