Monnaie sur un flan un peu court et épais avec une superbe coiffure et une tête presque complète. Revers avec le premier canton partiellement hors flan. Agréable patine sombre et brillante de collection ancienne. Un léger défaut de métal est à signaler sous le nez

Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo diritto : Tête stylisée à gauche, de type négroïde, un sourcil important et allongé, la chevelure représentée par des rangs de petites esses entrelacées.

Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo rovescio : Croix bouletée au centre, formée de quatre cantons ornés d'une lunule : un annelet au 1er canton et un globule aux 2e, 3e et 4e cantons.
Commento
D’un type de revers classique pour les drachmes dites “à la tête négroïde”, cette monnaie présente une intéressante tête complète et fortement détaillée d’un style et avec une composition de la chevelure qui ne correspond à aucune des monnaies reprises dans le Savès ! La joue est forme, mais proportionnées, les petites mèches sont juxtaposées sans être entrelacées et sans former de rangs.

I Tolosati, parte dei Volques Tectosages, occuparono la regione di Tolosa (Vecchia Tolosa). Sarebbero stati presentati dopo il 105 aC da Quinto Servilio Cæpio. Questo episodio sarebbe all'origine del mito dell'oro di Tolosa "aurum Tolosanum". Tolosa, la loro capitale era inclusa nella provincia di Narbonnaise, al confine con la Gallia indipendente prima della guerra gallica. Durante le guerre galliche, i Tolosati sembrano essere rimasti fedeli all'alleanza romana. Fonti: Cesare (BG. I, 10; III, 20; VII, 7); Strabone (G. IV, 14).
