10cm x 5cm. Cuivre finement doré et émail sur médaillon central. L’Ordre des RAOB fut institué en 1822. Mais comme beaucoup d’associations il y eut des schismes ou désir d’autonomie. De nombreuses associations ROAB prirent ainsi une certaine indépendance, sans doute toutefois rattachée à l’organisme central. Ces associations s’appellent des Bannières (Banners).
En 1866 les RAOB créèrent la Grande Loge d’Angleterre pour contrôler toutes ces Bannières (Banners). Et elle-même prit le nom de GEB Grand Executive Banner comme illustré sur cette médaille, pensant avoir la primauté. En réaction le district du Surrey s’intitula Mother Lodge of the World (Loge Mère du Monde) et arbora le titre de 'Grand Surrey Banner' .
10cm x 5cm. Finely gilded copper and enamel on a central medallion. The Order of the RAOB was established in 1822. But like many associations, there were schisms or desires for autonomy. Many ROAB associations thus took a certain independence, undoubtedly however attached to the central body. These associations are called Banners. In 1866 the RAOB created the Grand Lodge of England to control all these Banners. And it took the name of GEB Grand Executive Banner as illustrated on this medal, thinking it had primacy. In response, the Surrey district called itself Mother Lodge of the World and displayed the title of 'Grand Surrey Banner'
