Commento
Il existe de nombreuses variantes pour ces très rares oboles ! Le droit peut avoir une tête à droite ou à gauche, avec ou sans la croisette dans la chevelure. Le revers peut aussi présenter plusieurs combinaisons de lettres.
L’attribution à l’Est de la France, autour du Jura est probable au vu de récentes découvertes. Il semble qu’il y ait eu des confusions entre les monnaies de ce type, et les imitations de Marseille épigraphes MSAO, émises dans la vallée du Rhône ou plus précisément par les Allobroges (cf. DT. 3173)..

(II - I secolo a.C.)
I Séquanes erano uno dei popoli più importanti della Gallia orientale. Erano i nemici degli Edui, loro vicini. Il loro territorio era molto vasto e si estendeva tra la Saona, il Rodano, il Giura ei Vosgi. I laghi del Giura li separavano dagli Elvezi. Erano stati molto potenti nel III e II secolo aC, ma avevano perso il loro lustro dopo che i Germani avevano occupato parte del loro territorio intorno al 70 aC I loro vicini erano i Leuchi, i Lingoni, gli Edui e gli Elvezi. Il loro oppidum principale era Vesontio (Besançon). Citati più volte da Cesare, durante la campagna del 52 aC, fornirono un contingente di 12.000 uomini per l'esercito di soccorso. Cesare (BG. I, 1-3, 6, 8-10, 12, 19, 31-33, 35, 38, 40, 44, 48, 54; IV, 10; VI, 12; VII, 66, 67, 75, 90). Kruta: 16, 71, 111, 364.
