Commento
Two kinds of secretaries of the King are to be distinguished: those of the grand college, serving in the chancellery of France, whose official title is \\\"secretaries of the King, house, crown of France and finances\\\" and those of the small college in function in the secondary chancelleries born from the dismemberment of the grand chancellery The attributes represented (cassette of seals, hand of justice) refer us here to the grand college, itself divided into 5 categories: the college of the \\\"six-twenty\\\", the oldest, of the 54 instituted in 1583, of the 20 of Navarre constituted in body in 1608, of the 66 in question here and of the 36 of finances dating from 1625 The unification of these 5 bodies in 1672 explains that the term \\\"secretaries of the King\\\" becomes generic from this date, without precision of the college as we have it on this token. This token is missing from the Feuardent work
