Amerigo Vespucci (1454-1512) est un marchand, navigateur, explorateur et cartographe florentin. Il est le premier à émettre l’hypothèse que les nouvelles terres constituaient un nouveau continent et non une partie de l’Asie. Ce nouveau continent sera nommé America en hommage à Amerigo Vespucci.
Le navire-école de la Marine Italienne est baptisé “Amerigo Vespucci”.
Amerigo Vespucci (1454-1512) was a Florentine merchant, navigator, explorer, and cartographer. He was the first to suggest that the new lands constituted a new continent and not part of Asia. This new continent would be named America in honor of Amerigo Vespucci. The Italian Navy training ship was christened “Amerigo Vespucci.”
