Commento
Ces drachmes avec la petite tête sont moins courantes que celles à la grosse tête bouclée. Avec la petite tête, il semble qu'il n'existe qu'un seul coin de revers et deux coins de droit ; celui représenté par la monnaie S. 441 et le second par la monnaie S. 442.

GALLIA - SUDOVESTE DELLA GALLIA - RUTENI (Regione di Rodez)

Vicini degli Arvernes, dei Cadurques e dei Gabales, il loro territorio corrispondeva all'ex Rouergue (attuale dipartimento dell'Aveyron) a nord del Tarn, il cui corso costituiva il confine con la provincia di Narbonnaise. I Rutenes, alleati degli Arvernes, avevano partecipato alle operazioni che portarono alla sconfitta di Bituit, re degli Arvernes nel 121 aC e alla creazione della provincia di Narbonnaise. In questa occasione i Rutene si erano trovati tagliati in due, seguendo il confine naturale del Tarn. Attivi nella coalizione contro i romani nel 52 a.C., fornirono all'esercito di soccorso un contingente di 12.000 uomini. Fonti: Cesare (BG. I, 45; VII, 5, 64, 75 e 90).
