Descrittivo rovescio : Croix bouletée au centre, formée de quatre cantons ; deux arcs de cercle rejoints et bouletés avec de petits rayons, accosté d’un globule aux 1er et 4e cantons, une main au 2e et une hache à gauche au 3e canton.
Commento
Classée par erreur aux pétrocores dans MONNAIES XXV (n° 552), il s'agirait plutôt d'une drachme des rutènes. Si les ornements des cantons sont assez flous, le symbole du quatrième canton est assez net et complet.

GALLIA - SUDOVESTE DELLA GALLIA - RUTENI (Regione di Rodez)

Vicini degli Arvernes, dei Cadurques e dei Gabales, il loro territorio corrispondeva all'ex Rouergue (attuale dipartimento dell'Aveyron) a nord del Tarn, il cui corso costituiva il confine con la provincia di Narbonnaise. I Rutenes, alleati degli Arvernes, avevano partecipato alle operazioni che portarono alla sconfitta di Bituit, re degli Arvernes nel 121 aC e alla creazione della provincia di Narbonnaise. In questa occasione i Rutene si erano trovati tagliati in due, seguendo il confine naturale del Tarn. Attivi nella coalizione contro i romani nel 52 a.C., fornirono all'esercito di soccorso un contingente di 12.000 uomini. Fonti: Cesare (BG. I, 45; VII, 5, 64, 75 e 90).
