Le lieutenant-général Denis Vassilievitch Davydov (1784-1839) est un officier de hussard qui s’illustre en 1812 par la mise en oeuvre de la tactique de guérilla. Célèbre pour sa bravoure et son franc-parler, Davydov inaugure aussi un genre de poésie dite de hussard.
