Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Très beaux portraits. Faiblesse de frappe sur la légende de revers. Patine marron foncé

REGNO OF TRACIA - RHOEMETALCES I

Rhoemetalkes I, Pythodoris e Augusto
Rhoemetalces è il figlio di Kotys ed era stato il tutore dei figli di Kotys III. Fu Augusto ad affidargli l'intero regno di Tracia nell'11 aC, dove regnò per quasi venticinque anni. Rimase il fedele alleato dei romani e oltre a se stesso o a sua moglie Pythodoris, fece rappresentare sulla sua moneta il suo protettore Augusto e sua moglie Livia. Alla sua morte nel 12 d.C., Augusto divise il regno tra il figlio di Rhoemetalces, Kotys IV, e Rheskouporis III, fonte di conflitto che sarebbe finito con l'assassinio del primo da parte del secondo. Alla fine, il regno di Tracia divenne una provincia romana nel 46.
