Cette médaille fut frappée pour commémorer le centenaire de la mort de Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889). Il fut le plus célèbre poète romantique roumain. D’après wikipedia, ses poèmes les plus connus sont Luceafărul (Hypérion) - (L'étoile du Nord), Odă în metru antic (Ode en métrique ancienne), et les cinq Scrisori (Épitres).
This medal was struck to commemorate the centenary of the death of Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889). He was the most famous Romanian Romantic poet. According to Wikipedia, his best-known poems are Luceafărul (Hyperion) - (The North Star), Odă în metru antic (Ode in Ancient Metrics), and the five Scrisori (Epistles).
