Charles Sherwood Stratton (né le 4 janvier 1838 dans le Connecticut - † 15 juillet 1883), de son nom de scène General Tom Thumb (le général Tom Pouce), est un célèbre nain du cirque Barnum.
D’après le site internet (https://www.la-grille-verte.net/mmm/med.php?mednum=145) : Stratton avait 14 ans, mesurait 64 cm et pesait 7 kilogrammes lorsqu'il rencontra Phineas Taylor Barnum. Barnum lui apprit à chanter, à danser et à se produire sur scène et fit de lui une célébrité internationale. Son mariage en février 1863 avec une autre naine, Lavinia Warren fit la une des journaux. En Europe, ils rencontrèrent les souverains anglais et français.
