A small-sized and light-weight example, which is not mentioned by any author. This pre-series was produced with a 17.8 modulus and a theoretical weight of 2.40 grams, measurements certainly intended, initially, for standard minting. The correction was subsequently made since the example in the Kolsky collection, COINS VI, No. 790 measured 19 mm and weighed 3.43 grams (realized price 930 euros). Note also that this example has a well-marked and fairly wide rim, while the Kolsky example had a thin and slightly marked rim. An important example for understanding the beginnings of coinage in the Fifth Republic.
