PORTOGALLO - REGNO DEL PORTOGALLO - GIOVANNI PRINCIPE REGGENTE

(1799-1816)

Secondo figlio della regina Maria I e del re consorte Pietro III del Portogallo, Giovanni VI (1767-1826) divenne erede al trono alla morte del fratello maggiore Giuseppe nel 1788. Assunse la reggenza del Regno del Portogallo e delle sue colonie tra 1799 e 1816 quando sua madre Marie I sprofondò nella demenza.
