Très bel exemplaire pour ce monnayage souvent fruste et mal frappé. Légèrement décentré au droit; Frappé avec un coin mou et frappe faible. Très joli revers, bien venu à la frappe. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés au revers

Titolatura diritto : I III IO.

Descrittivo diritto : Galère de guerre voguant à gauche avec une série de rames, ornée d'une rangée de boucliers (treize) ; à la poupe, un mat ; dessous double ligne en zig-zag pour figurer les flots ; le tout dans un grènetis cordonné.

Rovescio

Titolatura rovescio : LÉGENDE PHÉNICIENNE “90”.

Descrittivo rovescio : Bige au pas à gauche conduit par un aurige, tenant les rênes ; derrière une divinité barbue (ou le Grand Roi) ; derrière, marchant, le roi de Sidon (Abdashtart) ; le tout dans un grènetis cordonné.

Commento

Au revers, les deux lettres araméennes sont les initiales du roi (Abastoret). Notre exemplaire est frappé sur un étalon phénicien allégé donc après la réforme de 372.
