La nuova monetazione di Sidone iniziò nel 112-111 aC Pompeo mantenne lo status di città libera, successivamente confermato da Marc Antoine. La monetazione autonoma cessò nel 30/29 aC Sotto l'Impero la città rimase un importante porto.
