Philippe-Vincent Roger est écuyer, seigneur du Plessis-Glain, du Plessis-Tristan, de la Jarrie, de la Bazouinière, la Mouchetière et autres lieux. Il est conseiller du roi et son lieutenant général, commissaire enquêteur, examinateur et garde au siège de l’Amirauté de Nantes. Il est maire de 1770 à 1772 et porte d’azur à trois coquilles d’argent deux et un.
La frappe en médaille est étrange mais il n’y a aucune raison de suspecter que le jeton ne soit pas d’époque.

NANTES (ÉCHEVINS ET MAIRES DE ...)
Il municipio di Nantes fu installato nel 1565 dopo essere stato creato da Francesco II nel 1560, con il diritto di eleggere i suoi assessori. I primi colpi di gettoni sono attestati dai testi del 1569. I primi gettoni non portano il nome del sindaco, sono gettoni di assessori. Un secondo periodo iniziò nel 1631 con la comparsa del nome del podestà sui gettoni. Lo stemma apparve nel 1637. Ci sono gettoni d'argento e di rame per questo periodo. Nel XVIII secolo, invece, la maggior parte dei gettoni erano d'argento. Nel 1787, il sindaco ricevette 140 gettoni d'argento e ogni assessore ne ricevette 70, per un totale di 700 gettoni annuali. Diversi studi sono stati fatti su questa serie: Fornier, nel suo studio sui gettoni della Bretagna, ha elencato 100 gettoni diversi. Perthuis e de la Nicollière contano 103 nel Libro d'oro del municipio di Nantes, Soullard, Tokens of the Mayors of Nantes, trova un totale di 135.
