Popolo armoricano, i Namnètes si insediarono alla foce della Loira il cui corso li separava dai Pictons. Il loro nome è mantenuto da quello della città di Nantes. Il loro ruolo marittimo sembra essere stato importante e hanno partecipato alle operazioni contro i romani nel 56 aC e hanno sostenuto la flotta veneziana. È tra i Veneti che Strabone colloca il porto di stagno, Corbilone. Cesare (BG. III, 9). Strabone (G. IV, 2, 1).
