Commento
Le revers est peut-être inspiré par le denier d’Auguste (RCV. 1640) de Turpilianus avec les mêmes symboles au revers (luni-solaire : astre et lune). Variété avec grand croissant de lune et grande étoile. La légende est stéréotypée, le K a la forme d’un I et les A sont ouverts en forme de Lambda.

Cronistoria
MAURETANIA - REGNO DI MAURETANIA - GIUBO II e CLEOPATRA
(19 a.C. - 6 d.C.)
Giuba I era stato sconfitto a Thapsus nel 46 a.C. ma suo figlio, Giuba II (50 d.C. - 23 d.C.), allevato da Ottavia, divenne amico di Augusto che gli diede la provincia della Mauritania nel 25 a.C. Cleopatra Selene, figlia di Cleopatra VII e Marc Antoine, furono risparmiati da Octave nel 30 a.C. quando quest'ultimo fece mettere a morte Tolomeo XV (Cesarione). Sposò Giuba II intorno al 19 a.C. e morì intorno al 5 o 6 d.C. Juba II gli sopravvisse di circa diciotto anni. È la prozia di Caligola e madre di Tolomeo succeduto a Giuba II e che suo cugino Caligola aveva assassinato a Roma nel 40 per annettere la Mauretania.
