Antigone Gonata è il figlio di Demetrio Poliorcete. Diventa re di Macedonia dopo aver sconfitto i Galati nel 277 a Lisimacheia. Quest'ultimo aveva invaso la Grecia due anni prima e aveva saccheggiato il santuario di Delfi.
