Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et épais, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait d’Héraklès de style fin, très “grec”. Joli revers bien venu à la frappe, à l’usure superficielle. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Descrittivo diritto : Tête barbue d’Héraklès à droite, coiffée de la léonté, nouée sous le cou.

Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval au pas, levant le postérieur gauche dans un carré creux linéaire; le tout dans les restes d’un carré creux.

Commento

Au revers le cheval est lourd. L’upsilon (Y) semble regravé sur un nu (N).

Cronistoria

MACEDONIA - REGNO DI MACEDONIA - AMINTAS III

(393-370/369 a.C.)

Aminta III è un pronipote di Alessandro I di Macedonia (495-454 a.C.). Prese il potere nel 389 a.C. rovesciando Pausania (390-389 a.C.) figlio di Aeropos (396-392 a.C.). A sua volta rovesciata dagli Illiri nel 383 aC, fu restaurata dagli Spartani due anni dopo. Fu Alessandro II a succedergli prima di essere assassinato da Tolomeo che divenne reggente per gli altri due figli di Aminta, Perdicca III e Filippo II.
