Ce monnayage est parfois attribué à Paros (Cyclades). Dans son récent ouvrage, Kenneth Sheedy, The Archaic and Early Classical Coinages of the Cyclades, Londres, 2006, RNS. 4, p. 112 (Non Parian group 3, pl. 17, n° 6vi indique que ce type n’appartient ni au monnayage de Paros ni des Cyclades, mais doit provenir du nord de la Grèce, peut-être d’Aegae sur une hypothèse d’Olivier Picard. Il s’agit bien d’oboles d’étalon éginétique.
